Assumptions changelog

The tools depend on prices, rates and rules that change. This page lists every value they use, where it comes from and when it was checked. Values marked "Not verified" are not used until they are checked; the tools ask you for your own figure instead.

Changes

  1. Added the PPF rate (7.1%), deposit limits and term from the National Savings Institute, and the one-year holding period for equity, for the SIP vs PPF vs FD tool.

  2. Added capital-gains rates (12.5% long-term, ₹1.25 lakh yearly exemption on equity gains, 20% short-term on equity) from PIB and CBDT, for the plot vs FD vs mutual funds tool.

  3. Added income-tax slabs, standard deduction, rebate and cess for tax year 2026-27 (both regimes, under 60), from the Income Tax Department and CBDT, for the tax regime tool.

  4. Set Lucknow CNG to ₹107.00 a kg (Green Gas Limited, from 3 Oct 2026) and Lucknow petrol to ₹101.86 a litre (19 Oct 2026).

  5. Added UP stamp duty and registration for the rent vs buy tool, as a placeholder (not verified).

  6. Added the UP domestic electricity tariff and rooftop solar subsidy, generation, degradation and export credit, as placeholders (not verified).

  7. Set the default scenario table (inflation, equity return, home prices, rent, fuel and electricity prices) and the 9% default rate on the extra car price, from the project spec.
